Nope, you can't ice fish any of the NYC Water Supply Reservoirs.  Probably wouldn't be safe anyway, due to the fluctuating water levels.

tobad i use to live near it and there are some big togue there and in the spring they would fish at night for them under the bridge. only place i saw people fish for togue at night.

are you refering togue as brown trout

ive fished pepacton for years never heard of or new anyone ever catching a laker there.Big red would know.

Yes, you can icefish some of the NYC reservoirs.  Check your regs.  Many are open to icefishing.  The Pepacton is not one of the ones open to icefishing though. 

Oh okay, I guess that when I got my NYC Reservoir Permit, I only looked at the reg's for the ones closer to me, like Pepacton and Cannonsville.  Oooops!

Yeah, it definitely can't get any easier!  You know, it's funny, I got that permit but not once have I fished any of the reservoirs.  I just don't know where to go!  I don't have a row boat there yet (stupid that you have to lock them and leave them, prone to theft!  )... and fishing from shore seems like a daunting task on those huge reservoirs.  I got the permit because I've wanted to tie into some big trout, but just can't seem to make myself believe that I'll catch anything worthwhile from shore!    I'm dying to fish the reservoirs though.

i lived there in andes in89 there was a store before you got to the bridge and it held a spring derby or somthing like that , but my freind there told me lakers  what did i know iwas from florida but they did fish at night and i remember seeing on the board like a 20# fish and i think they where all the same kind of fish. do you know anything about that?

These fish were definitely browns.  Brown trout are very nocturnal, especially the larger ones.  In fact, the world record brown, caught in Arkansas, was taken at night.

You can catch some huge smallmouth bass in the fall if
conditions are rilght.
