How will braided ice line do with small panfish sized jigs?  Would you tie directly or use a leader?

Depending on the temp..if its warmer its great I tied strait too the jig but it was 2#-3#
A bad day of fishin is still better than a good day at work!!

I never use anything but braided line, I can't remember the last time I ever lost a fish due to a snapped line.

Looking at your location you must be fishing from a shack, or do you have tips to deal with ice build up?
Loved braid early ice last year, but switched back to mono as it got a bit  colder. All my summer reels have braid on them.

I am in a shack ya, so don't have to deal with ice on my spinning reels. On my tipups I actually run fly line with mono 3ft at the jig, much easier on the hands and doesn't bird nest on the ice.
