If you are, how about lakes and conditions? Also thinking of trying it, but haven't done before.

Haven't been out for stocked trout since early in season. Expect ice will still be good as it's been cooler. Typically hit the NHPP area. There are lots of trout lakes in the area and most are fairly easy access. Great time of year to be on the ice. Work the entire water column but don't be afraid to fish very shallow. We have caught fish in only a foot or two of water this time of year. This picture was taken April 11 2015 there's more ice than water underneath it.

Does anyone know if there is truck access now to any of the trout/Splake lakes in the Big River/Chitek Lake areas?
