A Crappie Winter
« on: Feb 19, 2024, 12:17 PM »
Can't believe our first day on ice wasn't until mid-February !  It's been a warm winter, but maybe worth the wait - PB Crappies for my daughter & I:

Looks like a good day out.  Sometimes you don't get the best season or opportunities but it's what you make of the ones you have is what counts.

You should be using Tip Downs, much better for panfish than tip ups.

Certainly has been a difficult year for getting out on a lot of places, at least to some of the better spots. Great way to start the season and hopefully get a few more trips.

thanks for all the nice comments everyone.  Hoping to get a few more good days on the ice while it lasts !  Like Jack978 said, we may not get many opportunities this winter, so we'll make the most of them !

Those are some big crappies. Congrats to you. My favorite panfish to catch and eat. I have caught 0 this season.
