Battery on the LX-9. What volts are you getting??
« on: Jan 18, 2013, 10:43 PM »
My LX-9 has been on the charger for 24 hours and the light is still red.... I just checked the gauges and she's only showing 11.6V.... Is this normal after that long of charging??  It has never shown a green light on the charger..

I know it says it needs between 11 and 13 volts to run solid I just think 11.6 on "full charge" is a little low

13.3-13.6v is a full charge. 11.6 is almost dead.

11.6 is one bad cell, time for a new battery.

When you plug your charger into the outlet does it blink red for awhile or turn green?. I let the machine die today and trying to charge from dead.  I plugged it in and the charger light blinks red, it usually stays constant red when plugged in but it has a faint red blink...

I have never seen it blink, if I plug it in and it is not connected to the unit the light is green, if I plug it in and it is connected to the unit and the unit needs charging it is red

Mine blinks red when it's plugged into the outlet ever when it's not hooked up to my system.....  Guessing the charger might be shot..

Letting your battery run dead ruins it! Its an old wives tale that letting a battery run dead and then recharge it can help it in any way.

Phill
Charge the battery with the charger from one of your other flashers while you're waiting for anew charger from Marcum.  ;)
At least you'll know if the battery is ok then.
