does the S cable help the FL 18 or is only the fl 8 it helps
i find my unit a lot of time in shallow water still gets a lot of interference.

The FL-18 has that feature built in - Low Power Mode. I think if you tried the S cable while in the LP mode it wouldn't help all that much - try contacting Vexilar. I would think you wouldn't have enough power or you would have to turn the gain up all the way and the interferance would return. I've found either moving to another area where there is less particulates in the water or going to a bigger jig and turning the gain all the way down my only options
