First one thru the ice for me today. Caught two this morning. This laker has got some brilliant colors!Felt good to get out there again! Merry Christmas everyone.

He only had a few hrs before x-mas eve dinner .... so he pulled a few out..kids got the feel for the light biters they are!!

spent part of the weekend in Hardin with my in-laws so I decided to try out the new 3000 shimano symetre reel I got for Christmas. first fish was this beautiful 18-20 inch male brown trout, where are these when I'm trying to catch them haha. I was trying to catch some bait for tip ups and cut bait. I did end up landing 3 white suckers, 10 inch, 17 inch, and a 20 inch, and also lost what felt like another bigger sucker. Wasn't able to get out on the ice but it was still good to get out and catch some nice fish and get some bait for future trips

thanks Mike, looks like you had a good day too. though I had a giant pike minnow on at first like the one in your pic. but after 5 min got a look at her and was like school girls in the tent.

we also got into a mixed bag of fish seeds p mouth perch white fish kokanee rainbow n lg mouth bass for the kid not bad, and another look at Brenda the brown trout.

I don't know which is more beautiful, the fish or the land. I'd love to live in Montana, hopefully some day I will.

They are. When they get that big they fight like champs.
They look like a cross between a Walleye and a Nelma.
