Beard freezing
« on: Nov 28, 2022, 08:13 AM »
I love my crumb catcher but any slushie that sports a full one has had the ice-up problem. I got this ad in my mailbox this morning & looking for input. Would the condensation from breath still freeze up hair & is the flap going to compress against beard causing those annoying stinger hairs. It's only gonna be worn to, from & during setup/ takedown.

When in doubt, buy a balaclava. Cheap and warm. Problem solved.

What is the problem? Mine only gets a little ice on the outside fringes.

I use a wool Buff. Its breathable, dries quick, and wont smell bad after long use. Anything more I find myself sweating or like you mentioned my breath begins to freeze .

X2... When it's cold the beard freezes, it is what it is... Never bothered me and never notice unless someone else points out the icicles, my typical reaction is to give a thumbs up lol.

Hmmm...never really gave it much thought. Never been a real issue with mine. But  wearing anything around my face like that out in the cold, my glasses would fog up.

Just trying to stay dry. On those blizzard days, by the time the shanty sets/heats up it takes 1/2 hr to thaw which drips into spear hole during throw & gets front of shirt/ pants wet because I'm seated
Tried a baklava & can't find a beard friendly one & da scarf was tried but breathing froze it to da beard.

Was that post a joke? Beards get frozen, skin gets burned.  I stop shaving in September just for the ice season.
