St. Paul Ice Fishing Show
« on: Nov 23, 2022, 05:25 PM »
Have the ice fishing itch and have free time.
Is the show worth the 4 hour drive from southern Wisconsin.
Remember reading about the show last year.
But I don’t remember, good or bad reviews.
Suggestions?

4 hours from me and we go every year. I always got a few questions for some of the vendors there. This year it’s the barrel plug adapter for amped battery that didn’t come with my new lsv34 panoptix bundle. It’s cool to see new stuff and the ice fishing celebrities lol. We always go up night before and go to casino or gentleman’s club with my buddies.

It's a fun time, lot of stuff to see.  Some of the ice show specials are pretty good deals also.  I usually go to the Duluth ice show though, it's a lot closer to me.  Smaller, but still plenty to look at.

Also be prepared for a massive amount of people. Only thing I don’t like. It’s shoulder to shoulder through a lot of it.

There; I fixed it for ya.  ;D
And bring lotsa green stuff; last time I was there a hot dog and coke set me back $9. Parking will run ya at least $10-15. Best thing to do is eat/drink at a place first and park in their lot; most give ya a parking voucher for the show. And do NOT take children. You'll never see 'em again.  ::)

Thanks for the info.
Deciding to go on Friday by myself.
Wife wanted to go on Saturday.
But, if I brought her. I might lose her.
(Wait, maybe not a bad idea)
She also would be telling me, you already have those.
Don’t need that.
Thanks for all the help!

Thought I’d be a nice husband and bring her out.
Didn’t think she’d like it.
Now she’s hooked.
Maybe you have room in your shack?

My brother was smart. Traded his wife for a mule and shot the mule.   ::)

Use to be you could show up and find some great show exclusive sales, but that's all but gone now for the most part. Sure you'll find your standard 10-20% off, but that's feasible most any day of the week now.

It has evolved from more of a vendor sale swap/shop to a convention type atmosphere.  It's actually kind of weird.  I absolutely hate the crowd and bumping into people yet it's sort of what makes it so unique.  Sort of a MN State Fair deal if you've ever been there.  In my opinion, they have outgrown that facility though.  I would love more elbow room and not having to be downtown.

Bottom line is that it will definitely cost you more to go to the show with gas and parking and admission and food instead of sitting at your mobile device and clicking "purchase" from your couch.

By far the biggest draw for me is having most all the vendors (Giant, Large, Med and Small, New, and Old) all under one roof and comparing and asking questions face to face.  That is priceless in come cases.
