I haven't been to Island pond, but I went to Lake Elmore yesterday (3/17) and there was 2 feet of hard ice.  I could have driven on it easy.  This was a pleasant surprise since I got my feet wet getting onto Fairfield Pond on Saturday.  So if Elmore is good, then further north and east should also be good.
However the reports of large perch in Lake Elmore cannot be substantiated by me.

Thanks for the info man! Now I'm not even sure if I can fish there? I have to contact a warden tomorrow about it I posted the question on a facebook group as well and a few people said it's closed waters now.

Thanks for the info man! I was pretty sure I could still go for perch up there but I wanted to be safe rather than sorry
