CLAM AND K DRILL
« on: Mar 11, 2021, 08:24 PM »
Does any one think that the clam plate and k drill prices will go lower now that the season is winding down. I know a lot of places are sold out. But they are still  available here and there.

I predict a good used market after the end of the season.

I see Scheels has them for $70 with maybe free shipping.  That's not a horrible price.  But, make sure you really want one.  I bought one, did the infamous trigger mod, now it's rarely used.   I find it clumsy in the sled, a tad bulky, and a bit overkill for a 6" auger (Nero).  But, I'm not drilling through 20" of ice routinely.  Recently, I went the Deep Freeze way, using their quick-connect chuck.  That's a game-changer for convenience.
