Your Top Performing Lure of the 20-21 Season
« on: Mar 01, 2021, 06:49 AM »
Curious what others top 3 producing lures are for the season:

1.  Northland Forage Minnow - Perch coloring
2.  Sweedish Pimple - hammered blue spoon with red 'wing'
3.  Small orange tungsten ball jig with plastic red blood worm
Blue snow is better than yellow snow

Because I'm always trying new lures.  ;D  and fishing in combination with old style.

1. Major Craft Jigpara Spin Micro
2. Kender's T-Rip
3. Northland Gumball jig 1/32 oz with Bro's Bloodworm plastic.

I think my deadstick setup probably topped actual fish brought in.  It's a rig though and crappie minnow is the bait.

Ive only perch fished this year.

Top performer is a tear drop Caty jig in wonder bread pattern. Best tied in a foot above a larger flashy spoon.

For the spoons I've been using either a chartreuse spoon with a dropper chain (i think its a kastmaster Dchain spoon) or a purple medium dinner bell.

I tip them all with spikes, minnow heads, or usually perch eyes.

I haven't used mine through the ice yet, but I've had really good luck with those little 1/16oz stingnose on really early open water panfish, vertical jigging dropoffs.

They were definitely worth every penny of the international shipping, imho. I bought them a few years ago, but still haven't tied on one for ice fishing yet.

The lion's share of my ice catch this year were on 2 and 3mm Acme pro tungsten jigs tipped with Gulp waxies.
