How was it? I'm thinking of going Wednesday. My friend's son wants to try ice fishing so I'd like to hit a spot the perch are biting.

Thanks. I just checked the ice on my pond in Ellington and it doesn't look good so I may head to the Northwest corner instead.

What's Mashapaug looking like, any one know? Came down for a couple days and left my ice stuff up north at a rental we have for a bit in VT due to lack of room in our vehicle, but I have my rods and some tackle, looking for any open spots after the winds where I might be able to get a line in for a bit, or I'll just hit a river someplace, if I have to.

Mashapaug is a bit too frozen for you then.. a couple small open spots by the dam on the north end.

The Willimantic River is fast but fishable. I caught 2 nice browns and few smaller rainbows on the Willington/Tolland line on Saturday.

Yeah, rivers are probably my best bet, thanks.
