yea! those are some oinkers there congrats!  way to use one tool to giterdone.  nice job.  perch should be staging in proximity to spawning areas by now.  you should be able to score them the rest of the season there.

i often wondered if those bubblers made an area more attractive to fish.  there used to be a couple on sylvan.  havent seen any where i been last couple years.

There's open water with bubblers where I get on at...but I'm walking out to the middle of a bay fishing 35ft. of water...gills were suspended halfway down, crappies were 4ft. up,  and the perch were on the bottom...next Wednesday my order of wigglers from green bay will show up...hope they are still there...

Its the only lake I perch fish in winter and they get left alone...don't think anyone knows they are in there...the people that fish it are always fishing shallow for gills or they are takin their minnows for a swim tryin to catch a crappie...of course I always tell them " I didn't catch a thing"...🤣

Ya, you better keep that on the low down!  I would be scared to death someone would see me catch one.  My hookset most days is a dead giveaway.   Been known to knock myself off my bucket!  Keep on em, great looking fish!!

Funny you mention your hookset Roeboat. I was told a couple of weeks ago that I was making a couple guys tired that we’re watching me set the hook. Didn’t realize I was putting that much effort into it. I’m like you, that would give it away that I’m catching fish.   ;D ;D

i glue a wedgie tail or some marabou under the back fin.  i like how it moves at rest.  i think its a great trigger for ones staring at it, after the attraction rips. probably not as good as some maggots though.

Thanks for the tip on the marabou...I really don't like the way the spikes look on the treble hook anyhow since they kill the action of the rap
