Iceshanty Ice Fishing Giveaways Updates
Pk spoon with a rattle or buckshot rattle spoon. Both in a glow color
x2 on the buckshot spoon and gold Swedish Pimple.
A blade bait or jigging rap in perch color.
I like to use pimples 3 or 4 inches long, can't tell you the weight, I just go by size, lol.
First off, we are going to end your walleye "ice" curse, this winter! Second, if I had to pick a lure for real stained water, it would have to be a rattle trap or buck shot, something with a rattle in it. The sound will definitely help. In lightly stained water I would use a Swedish pimple it either chartreuse orange or green. In clear and semi-clear water it would be silver pimple with green, blue or red prism tape on the back.
Stained water --- Blue/Chrome Do-Jigger w/ blue shiners (with popped air bladder) on each hookReally stained water --- Glow painted Moonshine Shiver Minnow with blue shiner minnow head on bottom hook
Salmo Chubby Darter is my vote, perch during the day, and a glow at night.
Here it’s jigging raps depending on the size of the eyes I’m fishing , , 3-11s ,natural perch , black gold , and fire tiger , also depending on water clarity , cast masters 1/2-3/4 oz golds with different tape green gold , silver
Rippin Raps are about the noisiest lure I know of for stained water. I'm a fan of Shiver Minnows and Blade baits tooI usually tip a minnow head on the front hook.
I guess I'm the only schmuck who still uses standard gumball jigs in either 1/4 or 3/8 ounce with red or pink colors, bonus points if you can find ones with red hooks. Works for me.
I use them, 1/4 oz to 1/32 oz chartreuse is my go to color.
I have had some great days with the chubby but overall the walleye flyer has probably put more walleye on the ice than anything else. (Image removed from quote.)
You are reading an idiots view of your walleye and rig...so bare with me if I am an idiot LOLIs that a chem light on the line?
Either an Airplane Jig or a light set up on a tip up...#16 treble on 8# test mono with a 4" "blue" minnow.
That's just a yellow foam slip bobber that's followed all the way down the line to the jig.
