Eskimo Pistol Bit review
« on: Nov 29, 2020, 10:29 PM »
Purchased this along with a Milwaukee M18 Fuel brushless hammer drill 1200 in/lbs. torque.  They come with 5 AH batteries.
First time drilling several holes.  Had 8 inches of hard ice today.  Drilled 28 holes.   When I wasn’t using it I put the battery in a cooler bag with a hand warmer.  By the end of the day the battery still had 3/4 bars.  It performed wonderfully.  No fatigue, so light.  No gas fumes or spills on my hands.  I’ll update this thread throughout the year as ice gets thicker.  So far, very happy with the switch.

Had it out the other day in 17” of ice.  Drilled about 30 holes before the first 5ah battery lost charge.  Very happy with the unit.

What size of hole are you drilling? I have an older brushless Milwaukee Hammer Drill with 4AH batteries and a 6" hand auger that I want to buy the pistol bit adapter for.

Haven’t updated this in a while.  Took my auger out to Dief and the shaver blades got dulled big time.  I since have purchased a second pair to have with me in case this happens again. Got blades sharpened by a guy in town here and they are back to ripping. I was out today and drilled about 10 holes in 38” of ice on one battery. Still very happy with my set up.  Not regretting it at all.
