Carrying Finicky Fooler Tipups
« on: Aug 26, 2020, 09:08 AM »
Hi Guys.  I just bought four Finicky Fooler tipups that I can't wait to try!

My question is this...  I have an otter sled (not a flip over) that I mounted a long mesh cargo net onto.  Would this be a good way to store/transport my finicky foolers?  Or will them being exposed to the weather be a bad thing?  There's no line to get tangled, so maybe I can get away with this?

Does anyone have a system for storing/transporting their finicky foolers (or similar rod style tip ups) that works well?

Figured I would ask since these are a little different than conventional tipups.

My Setup:  Otter XL sled on a smitty.  10" Strikemaster Lithium 50 Volt auger.  Clam Bigfoot XL 2000 hub.  Garmin Striker 5 Ice Bundle.

They'll be fine in there. I keep mine in my Striker Transporter bag with the rods when it's just me and I'm only setting up 2. I have a Cabela's tipup bag that I bought on clearance that fits all 6 of mine and a few tipups if I'm taking my kiddos out.

I bot this from Gander Outdoors for $15 and it holds 2 tip downs & 2 tip ups.  I bot another one and it holds 4 rods.

I fit 5 Foolers, 5 Polar Tip Ups, 3 Wooden Tip Ups & 2 Sullivan Tip Downs in a milk crate I separate everything with small bungee cords creating sections I remove the Fooler Flags and put them in a corner of the crate I can fit more but that’s enough for any setup.
Works really well
