Dove into a river? What in gods name was he thinking! lack of common sense just blows my mind, I'd probably conk a buddy over the head before I'd let him dive into a frozen river over a phone. Kid, Dog or other person is the only thing worth risking it in my opinion, Anyways prayers for his family  :-\

Was it one of those "mega-expensive, does-everything-in-the-world-but make-phone calls" phones?

If so, then he just threw about $2.00 worth of carbon-based elements into a river after a $800-$1000 toy.

He chose very poorly....TWICE.

I lost my phone down a ice-fishing hole one day and my grandson looked at me and said what if grandma calls.  I said oh well, I'm not going in after it.

Smarter than the guy who dove in after it for sure.

As I told my buddy yesterday,  if it had happened to me..."Well, looks like I'll be stopping by the Verizon store on my way home".
