Burbot trying to take over local fishery.

So a number of years ago some burbot were illegally stocked according to the official story. Some claim that a shipment of catfish was mistaken for ling and accidentally dumped in a local lake. We are allowed to keep all we can catch and not allowed to release any back to try and thin them out. And multiple ice fishing derbies targeting them. But everyone seems to think they go inactive in summer and can't find a whole lot of info on summer fishing for them. Surely these eating machines don't shutdown after the ice comes off do they? Doing a good job of cleaning the crawdads out in the lake. And what once was an awesome smallmouth fishery has reduced us to catch and release on all smallmouth. Any help or tips greatly appreciated.

Summer time burbot, deepest water in the lake, fish just before to a couple hours after dark. Glow spoons or jigs with live or dead bait on or near bottom.

Read that they could survive in over 900 feet of water. Reservoir here is over 400 feet near the dam. Was wondering if they went even deeper than our trophy lake trout do. Don't think anyone here fishes more than about 100 feet.

I've caught a bunch on the bottom in 180', I'm sure they go deeper.
