H2L, I have been up to the NWT several times and can tell you that  the pike fishing is GREAT at the start of the Mackenzie river where it flows out of Great Slave Lake!! I caught a 25# pike that had bite marks on both sides of it's back!! This was during the spawn, so you know there are some big pike !! The Grayling fishing is awesome also!!! If there is any way you can do it---- GO!!! Also some very big lake trout in the lake proper!! But watch out for the moose flies!!! :woot:
My two favorite college football teams are Ohio State and whoever's playing Michigan!!!

Don't reel against the drag!!!

Ex Minnesnowta lad! You can take the lad out of Minnesnowta, but you can't take Minnesnowta out of the lad!!

OS Moose fly's huh ???  those the ones that look like miniature pterodactyl

Thanks WW, the way my world has been I just may need some.

#1 daughter got treated to a Milwaukee Brewers home game.  Her favorite baseball team of course .  Had me gripping the edge of my seat when it looked like they might blow a 5-0 lead in the 9th.  Kind of reminded me of my Rockies LOL

They are giant relatives of horse flies.

Got the turn signals all installed on the SxS and got my rear facing lightbars installed and wires run into the cab.
Just need to finish hooking them up.

All in all I had a pretty productive weekend.   ;D

Yesterday I finished splitting all of my firewood, there is quite a pile out there that needs to get in to the wood shed, not today.

WS, have a good trip to the shack.
Drifter, when it goes out, it goes out. Thanks for sharing.
OS, when IW hits LOTTO, WE will all go to NWT. I always wanted to go North of the border for brookies.
The pine pollen is about as bad as I have ever seen it. Hope we get some rain soon.
Have a good day and stay well....h2l

More much needed rain over night. They are a calling for a chilly 38* for tomorrow morning. Then some more rain for Thursday night into Friday. it has been so dry I have yet to see a mosquito. No moose fly's but plenty of nasty yellow jackets.

WW You might get our cool down for the holiday week end. The wife thought I was going to the other place for the weekend. I told her no way as I was not going to put up with the city idiots over there.

I got the phone number of a retired CO friend the other day. We spent at least a half hour on the phone. I need to take the time to stop at his house one of these days. It might be four hours of reminiscing.

IW As I told Drifter my brother wanted me to meet him at Great Slave Lake to pike fish. He was coming to Michigan from Fairbanks AK. No way could I take over a week off  from doing carpentry after coming out of a slow winter for work. Gotta make my $$$ while the sun shines.

I have a Drs. appointment  this after noon. I have to go every three months due to being diabetic?

I may not be able to post after today as internet explorer is not going to be supported after today. On edge all I get is a bunch of gobbly gook. I need to take the computer in so maybe the geek Squad can get that and some other things straightened out. They did not get every thing fixed the other day.

Good afternoon everyone

What a difference a day makes. The temps have cooled off with a high today of 60 along with a nasty 30mph N/NW wind . Tomorrow it drops again by 20 degrees, only getting into the low 40's with rain and wind.

IW....good work getting the wood all split

WW....I was wondering where Mr. Muggy went next. Late yesterday our old buddy Les Humid came to town, it sounds like he will spend a couple days here.

Yesterday was a good time even if the ticks were thick. My wife had an eye appointment this morning and half of the news was good. The eye pressure has remained in the normal range however she will need to have cataract surgery before the end of the year. She is happy that the specialist she is seeing will also be doing the surgery. With her eye problems the surgery will be a little more intense, it sounds like she she will be taking a couple weeks off work just to alleviate eye strain.

Hope you all are having a good day  Stay safe and keep healthy.

Good Morning Everyone,
58* under fair skies here this am, high of 67 today. Had some pretty strong storms roll through yesterday, high winds but the hail missed us thankfully.

Marv...sorry to read eye surgery will be needed for Jo, sending my best wishes to her and a full quick recovery.   The ticks have been very bad again here as well. I’ve been spraying my clothes with the permethrin every time I do the lawn/weed whacking.
Tom... hope that link that Dave posted helps you out with the internet problems....good luck!
Wally...sounds like the stars lined up bumping into your old friend shopping....glad you got to spend a few hours together catching up, awesome!     Best of luck with the garden, hopefully the storms didn’t cause any problems.
H2...put me down for that NWT trip, that’s something I’ve always wanted to do also!!   :flex:  Agree on the pollen...my black truck seems to turn green over night lately.   ;D  Good luck if your chasing the walleyes today!
Jeff...great job on finishing up the splitting, some cooler weather headed our way!!     How were the storms up your way...saw quite a few warnings going out for your area.
Dave...thanks for the link to the River...amazing seeing that much ice flowing this time of year.
Bud...glad you were able to catch a game with your daughter, nice!!!

The wake I went to yesterday was for an ex-BIL’s Mom who passed, she lived a good long life but had a quite a few complications over the last few months. She was 95, and it was stated her favorite time of day was 4pm...that’s when she had her martini.   ;D   Masks were not required if you had the shot(s), but I had one with me...just didn’t feel comfortable being without it.
Have a section of stone wall that’s needs repairing today, the cooler weather will welcomed!  The Cawfee’s on and extra strong again this am....
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

                 Good morning ER's,
It's 54* and mostly clear with 86% humidity, ugh. ::)
Marv..........I'm glad you had a nice time at "The Shack" except for the ticks. :%$#!: Tell Jo that I've had cataract surgery on both eyes,
it's a walk in the park. I'm glad she has the same specialist doing the procedure, somebody she is comfortable with.
Wally.........It looks like cooler weather for the next few days. I'm glad you had a good time with the old friend, how long has
it been since you've seen each other? ???
H2l...........I agree about the pollen, I've never seen it this bad, when I mowed my lawn on Monday my shoes was covered with it. :o
Eddie........Prayers were with you at the wake yesterday.  :'(m The storms here never got going, all we got was some rain. I did hear 1 clap of
thunder off to the northwest.
OS............Like H2l said when I hit the lottery all of the morning ER's are invited. :flex:
Tom..........I hope you can figure your computer out so you can keep posting.
Yesterday I cleaned all the wood chips from the chainsaw from my driveway, then took the rest of the day off. I have a Dr.'s appointment
today at noon so my day is on hold again.
I hope everyone has a good Thursday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Morning all,

WS.....glad the pressure is still doing well for MrsWS   sending her well wishes for a speedy recovery from the upcoming surgery  :)

Eddie.....we had some pretty good wind, thunder/lightening and 1/2" of rain here  ::)  dropped the temp by 15* in minutes  ;D

IW.....good luck at your appointment today  ;)  how's your M-I-L doing  ???  it's been about 2 years since my friend and I spent time face to face  :-\

TT.....fingers crossed you find a way to keep posting  :)

H2L....hoping the rain slowed the pollen for a day or two  @)  any fishing planned before the weekend  ???

Garden's in, lawn's mowed and temps are mid 60's with a cool 15mph breeze so it looks like it's back to the wood pile today  :flex:

Have a good day. Stay safe, stay healthy.

56* and some sun. Air must be cooler than the water as there was mist coming off the water early.

WS, good luck to the wife. My wife had it done a while back and as IW said, no issues.

IW, Good luck with the Dr's appt.

WW, Lindsay and I had planned on fishing Friday, now saying high of 47* and some rain. Looks like she will come up on Sat and we will go out early Sunday morning. Might have to "fight" our way out at the launch when we come in but I am sure she can handle just about any of those weekend boaters, I will watch the boat.

Hope everyone has a good day and be well...h2l

Good morning everyone

50 with an all day rain in the making. Tonight we have freeze warnings, south is sleet maybe some snow :cookoo:

IW.... best of luck at your appointment

WW.... just like that......The Wood Pile! ;D Don't over do it

Eddie....I know what you mean about not feeling comfortable. I always keep mine handy too.

Thanks for the encouragement on my wife's surgery. It sounds like they want to do it closer to fall as they need to do some prep work before the procedure. The Dr. that is doing it specializes in people with iritis so she will be in good hands.

A tinkering day in the garage with the rain coming down.

Hope you all have a good day  Stay safe and keep healthy.

Good Evening, Everybody

In between rainstorms right now, when is enough-enough?

Since I got home from my last NJ trip, it has rained everyday, some were showers, some were tropical monsoons, lots of thunder and lighting with it too, flash flood warnings
posted thru out the area here with more to come for the next few days, the tornado in Seldyn was to the west of here, so all we got was the possibility of a tornado
     warning/watch

I still have to go get my boat in NJ, need to register the trailer here in KS before getting it, NJ reg. is expired, Ellie left today driving back to NJ to see family & friends, she
won't be back till end of next week, then will start to put my trip together

Hear boomers again, will get back on when this all passes

Be Safe
Stay Cool or Warm
Have Fun
Tight Lines
Records & Limits
Safe Travels
Happy Birthday
Happy Anniversary
Good Eats & Drink
Get Well Soon
Thoughts & Prayers
Now is the time for all good men and women to engage in the sport of ice fishing

Well sitting in Denver one more flight and then get to give the wife her birthday kiss and hug. Been a short but very very stressful week out in Ohio this time. Will be nice to be in the lake playing around with the wife and kiddos the next few days. Every one ha e a blessed memorial day and thanks to all the veterans and soldiers that have and are defending our freedoms. And to the ones who gave it all as well. Have a good end of the week.

                   Good morning ER's,
It's 40* and cloudy here on my hill. On my phone I have a front advisory, never seen that before. ::)
Wally.......How did the wood pile work go?  ??? My MIL seems to be better but has more blood work today, They tell her that
her sodium is too low and her potassium is too high.
Marv........How did the tinkering in the garage go? ???
Capt.Jim...That's the weather you get in that area of the country, hope you all can weather the storms. :flex:
Fish..........I'm glad you have a long weekend to spend with the family. Happy Birthday to your wife.
Eddie........Something is amiss to me, only 50% of the country vaccinated and they are easing up on the mask wearing
and people gatherings. Even though I've had the vaccine I still wear my mask at the stores. ;D
H2l...........The weather for this weekend doesn't look the best for getting out, I hope the guessers are wrong and you and Lindsay
have a good day out Sunday.
Steve........How is the new stairway to the laundry room? ???
My appointment was for an evaluation of my right hand that was injured last year. The "VA" has considered it a secondary incident
caused from a primay incident that happened years ago while on duty. We'll see what they determine.
Today is wood stacking weather, Magic will help tomorrow morning but I want to get a jump on it.
I hope everyone has a good Friday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

43* and some light rain on the way.
WW, if you haven't got the wood done, it looks like some "nice" cool weather on the way.
F/H4, Happy Birthday to the wife.
Capt. Jim, you may have mention before, but what part of KS are you in? Hope the wife has a good trip back to NJ.
Returned my brother's post hole digger to him last night, he was getting all his plants ready for the weekend; which means he was covering them. Next couple nights are going to be cool here by the water, up in the hills it will be frost. He had 32* earlier this week. He has been re-doing his kitchen. Took it right down to the studs, he also mows with his son a couple days a week.
Yesterday I saw a lot to campers headed North and I heard the campsite is filling fast, the "black flies" will be happy, some new blood.
Hope everyone has a good day....h2l

Good Morning Jeff, H2,  Morning Everyone,
Looks like some cooler weather and rain moving in to the area for the next few days. 44* this am, might reach 50 today with showers expected by early afternoon.

Jeff...best wishes continued for your MIL, hope they can get the numbers balanced out. Good luck with news on the evaluation also, hopefully that won’t require another surgery.     Nice cool weather for the wood today....but take er easy!
FH4...hope your last flight was on time, Happy Birthday to your wife!   Have a great time with the family camping out this weekend!
Capt.J...glad to read the tornado stayed outside of your area, hopefully some better weather is on the way.  Safe travel wishes for Ellie, will be lots of travelers this weekend.
Marv...some crazy weather going on out there again! Looks like some of that cooler weather is arriving here, my app is showing a low of 38 tonight.  :cookoo:
Sounds like Jo will be in good hands with that Dr., let her know we’ll be here supporting her all the way through...best wishes!
H2...best of luck to you and Lindsay this weekend, hopefully you get a good window with the weather.    Yes, the black flies have been out and hungry!!
Wally...yesterday was a nice day to be on the wood pile...hope the bones aren’t too sore this am!
Steve...hope everything is going well down your way, heading to NJ this weekend?

Put the stone wall repair off yesterday and went and got a couple yards of top soil to fix a bunch of bad spots on the lawn. Got that all seeded and watered down  covering with hay this am and crossing fingers the rain doesn’t wash everything away, lol.
Have a veterinarian stopping by this afternoon to check up on my old dog Cody, he had some issues again this week I believe we got under control but need a looking at. Cawfee’s still on and the Mrs. has Dunkin Doughnuts under the dome.... ;D
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

I am still able to get on IS with Internet Explorer. I need to get an appointment to take my computer to the Geek Squad so they can get some issues fixed they did not clear up online.

Capt Jim. It would  be hard to get plates changed in Michigan as the SOS office has gone to appointments only. They are hard to get. There are a lot of vehicles running with no plates as they can not get in to get  ones for newly purchased vehicle from a private party. Dealership's can issue a temporary paper plate that goes in the back window until a new plate comes in the mail.
I am glad we do not get the tornados that you get down your way. I only had one got through near my other place in the over 50 years I have owned it.

Marv Thanks for sharing the rain with us. Hopefully it put out the wildfire out north of me that they have been fighting for a few days. I am sure there are some wet tent campers this morning.
I have had cataract surgery on both eyes with no problems but I do not have any underlying problems. The only problem is I can not remember where I left my reading glasses. I am having some  floaters in one eye. At least they are not too bad.

F/H 4E Happy Birthday to your wife. Hopefully you made it home with no problems to give her the hug and kiss.

H2L It has been so dry here I have not seen a single mosquito. Luckily we do not have black flies. Deer flies yes. They take a chunk out of your hide when they bite.

Eddie I am not going to confess on how many Dunking Donuts I used to eat. I can not remember what my favorite one was.

Humm A vet that does house calls! My 12 year old lab had gone deaf. Our vet gave us some blue stuff and an antibiotic that cleared that problem up. She can hear again.

Time to get breakfast. I guess cleaning up the garage is on the docket today unless the boss has other ideas.

Good Morning Everyone, 51* here today. My wife got out of work early yesterday. Her brother from Florida came into town for a business meeting and everyone got together for dinner. It was my first time meeting him. Going to my parents and my parents cemeteries today. My wife is working the weekend.

Mason Eddie, Hoping your old dog Cody will be ok.

WallyWorld, Thats great there was only one snake in the pile.

Hunts2long, Hopefully your brothers plants will be ok. Black flies do enjoy new blood.

Ice Wanderer, Go slow with the stacking today. How many cords are you stacking total?

I hope everyone has a great day and a safe one. Tight lines to those fishing today.
Take a kid ice fishing

Good morning everyone

I think we are at 44 degrees  so far. Last night it was in the 30's good mitten weather.

I had a couple failed attempts this morning at posting so will keep this short incase. Probably just as well anyhow as I was on a covid vaccine rant , but will say it helped to talk about it even if it never made it to the 9:45. I just hope the State doesn't run out of money as they hand out gifts and prizes trying to entice those that haven't been vaccinated to do so :cookoo:

We are out and about looking for a basket of flowers. I had no idea what I was in store for or I would have opted to stay home. We are at the 4th green house and they are still searching

Hope you all have a good day  Stay safe and keep healthy.

Well made it home and all is good. The wife might come out with me to Ohio in a week as the kids are supposed to go to Texas with my mom and her husband. So might have her with me the next couple of trips which will be nice. Well this is the view out of the camper for the next couple of days.
