I try to get there for dawn but not always sucessful, the sound of the auger on cold quiet morning is one of the best sounds ever.

Man oh man, thats a nice sound for sure, now I am really ready for the ice.
The sound of fish jingling a bell on a tip-up or set rod is also good to hear. 8)
