Nunavut fishing lisences in Yellowknife??
« on: May 16, 2012, 08:52 PM »
Hey, does anyone know if Nunavut fishing licenses are available in YK? I am working in Nunavut and they want me to have a license to fish at camp. I would imagine there are quite a few people in the same situation.

check with the department of fisheries and oceans here in Yellowknife.

Yellowknife Area Office
Fisheries and Oceans Canada
 Suite 101 – Diamond Plaza
5204 - 50th Ave.
Yellowknife, NT X1A 1E2
Phone: (867) 669-4900
 Fax: (867) 669-4940

Or check with one of the other places mentioned in Nunavut.
I think you will need to get it in Nunavut though and not here in the NWT.
This is from the Nunavut fishing regs.

Licences are available from the Department of Environment
or Fisheries and Oceans, most sport fishing lodges, sporting
goods, hardware and convenience stores, as well as certain
offices of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Link to the Nunavut fishing regs.

I went to co-op and gastown and they just have NWT licenses according to their staff. I was told I could get s license here because of all the fly in tourists. I hope you don't actually have to go to Nunavut to get a license.... Thanks for the info Drifter!
