Stopped by yesterday to this small lake. Temperature was 25 degrees. Looked like about 3" on the lake with most of it locked up. It's fed by a mountain creek and several springs so there's always open water, but it should be fishable very soon. Plenty of trout and a few suckers, but not much of any other species.

About 8 inches on the lake today. My son caught three trout and I had a few bumps and one good bite but failed to land anything. Great to be out again!

Checked it out today and it looks like there have been several holes already drilled. I didn't have a ruler but I estimate about 4" of good ice. It's open where the stream feeds in from the west end, where there are springs coming in at the edge, and at the dam breast, but otherwise looks OK. I plan on fishing it Sunday afternoon after church.
