I fish with a #3 ultra light rippin rap for crappies. I use mono with a #10 snap and swivel so I can quickly change lures or colors. You can direct tie to the lure if you prefer. I have another rod rigged with a fiskas or similar jig for a second option if the crappie refuses to take the rap.

Lots of cross over lures for many different species , nothing wrong with thinking out side the box , you’d be surprised 😉

I have been known to rip a small lipless crank bait in my lakes basin and mud flats for crappie and perch ...mostly to call them in ..not my go to though.

Now that the micro versions of lipless crankbaits have become available, yes crappies will bite them.

the smallest size #3 rapala rippin raps work very well ...perch,stocker trout, pikerel and bass will all smack them too.  only negative is you dealing with double treble hooks

Same, call them in with all the flash and movement of a lipless then offer a more subtle option once they've come looking... Unless of coarse they smash the lipless then I'll keep working it but the ole bait and switch seems more productive in my waters...
