Spend the money and stick with the Big Buddy.  I've got the Eskimo Eskape 350 and that's what I use.  It's nice to have both burners when it's cold out there.  It's quiet, unlike sunflowers and you don't have to worry too much about burning a hole in your bibs or tent.

I agree, the Mr. Heater Big Buddy is propbably the best ice fishing heater around.  You won't be disappointed.

I use a Mr. Heater cooker in my portable and 5x9 non insulated perm. It gets it up to 80* if you want to wear a t-shirt. It also only costs 1/3 the price of the Big Buddy.

I have a Mr Heater I bought at Lowes on sale last spring $34.00, 9000BTU. It cooks you in a small shelter and just right in a 3-4 man shelter. A lot of it will depend on how cold  of a person you are. if you are one of those people who is cold on 25 degree days, make sure you get plenty of heater. I'm a person who does not get cold until we see single digits.

I use a single burner buddy heater in my 6 x 6 hub style.  Before that I used a coleman black cat.  The coleman wasn't as warm and did have a biger footprint in use, but would give a much longer burn time on a tank.  The buddys are great, but I'll definitely be getting set up with a hose and 5 lb. prpane tank for next season.

IMO the "big buddy" is overkill.  You can heat that shack with the regular "Buddy" heater just fine...

Kinda depends on where he's at, the regular Buddy wouldn't heat my Guide on sub zero days, add some wind and I would freeze without my Big Buddy. At least here in Nebraska.

i agree seems like those big buddy heaters use a lot more propane than the regular buddy

go with the big buddy it heats my eskimo quickfish six more that enough and the blower fan is a great addition. the only complaint I have is that the oxygen sensor is kinda touchy, and i would recomend buying a hose so that you can use a twenty pound tank those 1 pounders only last about 4 hrs and get pricey

I too have the Mr Heater Big Buddy.  It heats my 6x12 Hub w/o floor nicely on a zero degree night w/ slight wind.  My 5yo son and I take our coats off - just have hoodies on.  No gloves.  I have one of the Hub Vents open.

It's all relavent to what temp setting you run it on, set on high the Big Buddy will use more fuel than the reg. Buddy for obvious reasons. I hook my Big Buddy to a 20 lb cylinder and can go all season on $17, pretty cheap comfort.

Either the Buddy or Big Buddy heaters.  They won't give you a CO headache like the other heaters.

i also use the big buddy. also have the small buddy. But the best thing i ever got was the carry bag from cabelas for the big buddy. It protects it from getting dirt on the heating element.  they r great for the big shantys as i fish from a clam thermalX2.

I also use the the Mr. Buddy heater and it works great for my frabill outpost. It gets so warm that you have to turn if off for a while. A great choice!!
