First day out. Ever.
« on: Dec 21, 2005, 10:09 PM »
Well, i went out once just to drill a few holes to ry out my new auger but this was the first real day. BTW, i got new blades for the auger and it cuts awsome now.
Went to green turtle first, but had no luck. The ice was good though, probably around 5 inches. Went to Monksville after just for a few minutes. The ice on the north side by the bridge was about 6 to seven inches. Set up 4 tip ups and jigged with one pole. nothing at all, but when My buddy went to pack up the tip ups he found a little surprise. A walleye at the end of the line! The flag didnt even go up. Well we had the tip up set up all wrong. The reel was out of the water. BTW, we were using medium shiners.

How big was the 'eye. I've spent so many trips to Skunksville without ever even seeing an 'eye. Mostly targeting toothy critters but last seaon started to try for 'eyes with no luck at all.
