I can't wait for the derby season!  I'll be hitting up the Lake Hattie derby and the Keyhole derby most likely and will possibly be checking out some new ones, any suggestions?

I've been thinking about hittin' up the Meteetse derby this year but that's quite a jaunt from Laradise.  I probably better limit my far distance hard water trips or the ol' lady will be getting after me!  ;)

After going to both Hattie and Burbot bash and not getting one fish from either, I think I will sit out derby's this year. The family did have fun (hot chocolate on the ice, having the dog pull the kids in the sled, etc.), but the fishing was very slow for both of those derbies.  :-\

Hattie can be ruff, but I agree, I'd much rather be on the ice than not!

I will hit the meeteetse derby if they have it.  i asked them about it the other day and they are not sure it will happen as both lakes are almost empty. i will also try to hit boysen or the hawg derby at pathy.

Waiting for some dates on them.  I've never ice fished keyhole.  Only fished it once.  I will try to hit that one.  I did well near the dam in the summer on crappie.  Not sure where else to go on that lake.  Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
You can lead a man to water but you can't make him catch fish.

I hit pretty much the same derbys every year. Hattie, Saratoga, Lake John, Delany Butte, and Fremont Lake. Fremont is my favorite trip of the year cause I love going after those big lake trout. I am looking forward to the Hattie derby this year too. I think the fishing will be better than the last few years. Or maybe I am just hoping cause it can't get much worse!
Can't catch em sittin in the living room!
