Madison Lake Chain
« on: Nov 01, 2007, 03:30 PM »
I have never fished any of the madison lakes, but I think I want to try it this year since ive heard so much about them. Panfish mostly.  Can anyone tell me the best way to access these hot spots?  I am somewhat familar with Madison, but ive never fished the lakes even on open water.  Is there some public access area or something to get out there?  Any response is better than non.
Thanks, Dusty

Fishing the Madison. Start with Mendota, University Bay, park in university parking lot, you will have to stop at the guard shack to get a parking permit. Lake Monona, fish monona bay early ice, park off 151 by the beach, later try Olin park, Waubesa & Upper mud lakes, launch at libby rd, walk to rail road bridge and also try by the hole in upper mud. Just a few hot spots I try.
