Just wondering what the ice is looking like in central sask.  Drove out to Blackstrap Sun. morning, WIDE open except for some around the shore at the north end. Ya Ya MP we know you have ice and you have allready caught some trout. Just jealous thats all ;D How thick is the ice MP?

a good 4-6 inches on the trout lakes heard guys are walking out on waterhen for pike already.

Blackstrap has 4" to 6" of ice, there were some fisherman fishing at the sunken road on Sunday.

apu, is blackstrap completely covered with ice?  do you think it would be safe for walk ons??    let us know

Yes, no open water at all, I walked out about 50yds and it started to get thinner     ( about 4" ). If you are brave a walk out would be no problem, I'm not that brave, I like a good 10" because the ice won't be the same thickness everywhere. The ice was sure cracking though, it sounded like music. If we don't get any snow for a few weeks it will be good to go for x-mas.
