Hooking perch eyes?????

What is the best way to hook perch eye for bait? Going perching and piking this weekend and have never caught a perch on this lake. We can't use live minnows or "invasive" species so was wondering how you hook your perch eyes? Thanks in advance for the advice!!!

Pop em out with a paper clip or large hook getting in behind the eye. Put it on your hook any way it will stay but i usually go in from the back

or you could always put the eye ON the hook
