Title: Crappie in Southwest Michigan
Post by: michiganice on Nov 20, 2013, 02:08 PM
Probably going out on a limb here, but would anyone be willing to share some lakes in the greater Kalamazoo area that I'd have the best chance and catching a bunch of crappie?  I'd also like to know the best techniques.  Last year I tried right around dawn and dusk and did land a couple, but never got on to them really good.  Hoping to figure out where and how to land more of them this year.

Didn't see the mention of going/staying at night itself . Most lakes have at least a decent night bite if you can figure out where to find them (look for the lantern colony, usually a bunch of sociable crazies). Day bites can be exceptional, but again it's a case of finding them. Found the dawn/dusk bites are fairly weak, you may find them but they are often simply staging for the night or just after the feeding and getting ready to move to their daytime areas
