fish finder for a newbie question...

An ice fishing neebie here...Was wondering if anyone had used a fish finder normally found on boats at all for on the ice...have a humminbird wide128 from my 14ftr that I was thinking about trying...any suggestions or tips? Thanks

I don't know much about fish finders on boats but I've seen a lot of videos on You Tube about the subject. I'd start there.

How many use your normal fishfinder for hardwater?
