That works, Jason looks comfy. Must of been action packed lolll
Yeah I decided to take a day and do some relaxation fishing just hanging with friends but I had no idea it would be that relaxing...lol
It'll be the only time you ever catch me sitting down. Those who know me know I'm non-stop through the day. Hell I've already moved once and egged 20 holes this morning...lol

Those hot dogs are good though ain’t they?
Well I had to bring something to the hot dog thread that no one else has brought yet. The venny dogs are Superior to any store-bought hot dog but that's just my opinion. I'm biased since I have 200 lb of meat in my freezer...lol

Baked beans, my buddy John's recipe... I've been making like this for years.

1 pound dried beans, the type is up to you. I like Hambones 15 bean blend.
1/2 pound of thick cut bacon
1 large onion chopped, vidalia if you can
1 bell pepper chopped
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of bbq sauce, I like cattleman's
2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp of mustard
2 tbsp of worcestershire sauce
4 cloves of garlic minced
2 tsp each of salt and pepper.

Soak your beans overnight in water 10-12 hours. Start with chopping your bacon and browning in a cast iron pot, when the bacon is half done add the onions, peppers and garlic to soften in the bacon fat for a few minutes. Now put in everything but the beans and mix it well then add the beans, stir it up cover and into a 350 oven for 2 hours stirring occasionally...

Since the oven is on 350 for a couple hours might as well make some cornbread too.

Buns? What’s the deal on buns?

I gotta go Pepperidge farm, golden potato, sweet Hawaiian, classic top sliced any of those. I’m not a grilled Buttered bun guy, steamed or out the bag for me.

I’ve never turned down a dog in a old folded piece of wonder bread where the bottom blew out but I feel I’m worth more these days.

Frank I had two Nathan’s yesterday on wonder bread…. No blow outs though LOL

I have a love hate relationship with cornbread, if it’s moist its a great side dish, but sometimes it gets a little dry and it’s like pouring sand in your mouth

John I cant do it, it only accelerates the law of diminishing returns when it comes to a hot dog.  It needs to be spicy brown preferably. yellow mustard secondarily.

The dog has a natural sweetness to it already, the ketchup just adds too much more, the tartness of any mustard of your choosing compliments and enhances the dog up until and including 2 dogs, at the third dog this enhancement falls off dramatically and no amount of encroutremont will bring back that initial satisfaction of the first dog, this relationship can also be found with cocaine

Ketchup on a hot dog is for pre-school children that don’t know any better…😂 that said, the best dogs I’ve ever had, hands down, were at a roadside stand in Quebec…all you needed to know was “HOT DOG, ALL DRESS” and you got a world class wiener with all the goodies (no ketchup)! A side of Poutine and you’re in Quebec, culinary heaven! 🤪
