Ugly Stik GX2 for perch

The rod comes in light (26"), medium (28") and heavy (30") versions.  Which would be best for perch and pickerel? I think the choice is between light and medium, but not sure which. Thank you for any suggestions you might have.

Well, which did you end up with? I am facing the same question and wondering what you decided and how it worked out after a couple years  ;D
