I went once there this season, couldn't keep the channel cats off my tilts, two 16 inches and a handful of shorts, all in the middle of the day. Others I talked to on the lake had similar luck. They must've stocked recently in there with cats, I've been there in summers past for hours at night fishing with livers and couldn't buy a bite.
A smart person would watch the few that ventured to the ice sheet, the daring would follow in their boot prints, but the pioneers would already be heading to where they belong.

These channel cat tank scrubbers that the state has been stocking act much different than the ones that live naturally in the river.  They don't seem to be interested in the normal cat baits and eat weird stuff.  i have caught a bunch over 5 lbs the last couple of years while pike fishing with a bluegill under a bobber in 5' of water at noon! ???

The channel catfish were biting like crazy here the last couple weeks like androux said. I know they are a predatory fish but damn never expected a 24" catfish to rise off the bottom 10+ feet to hit a live shiner. Biggest one ran about 25/26" and easily 6 pounds. Beautiful fish too all silver and blue. Scoville is also loaded with huge yellow perch if you know where to find them. You may even run into the occasional trout too, like this one from last week.

Beautiful pink meat too, meaning it was a holdover. Which is odd since I never hear of any being caught outside the few weeks after opening day in the spring. Pretty sure the catfish and pickerel eat them all by the looks of this thing.

Don't know. Ive only seen that same photo that everyone else has seen from a few years back. I would assume they are still in there, it's a perfect habitat with plenty of food. Lots of shallow weedy coves and some creek inlets.
