Now that would be a stretch from the WR.  Not saying it's not possible, but I will wait for the pics!!  Wouldn't that produce some action on the lake!!!

It was posted somewhere here on IceShanty last year...can't remember where exactly, but I'm thinking it was on Manitoba thread.  Definitely Photoshopped though...

There is prob a few 20 pounders swimming away down there somewhere! Give it a bit one will show up!
The ice angler is a different breed of fisherman. Undeterred by distance, daylight or degrees, these warriors go to extreme measures to chase down the fish attempting to wait out winter below the frozen surface. Through 10-inch holes positioned amidst miles of ice they engage the elusive walleye one-by-one, yeah it's crazy, and some may never understand it.

The saddest part about this whole thread is that, the 13lb fish didn't live to be caught another day  :(

Ok...we get it haha. I know your just trying to get a rise out of people on here but the unfortunate part is that's not what this site is for.  I'm not sure if your not intelligent enough to realize this or whether you are just that much of a knob that enjoys posting about how you enjoy depleting our lakes but I'm here to tell you that nobody wants to read your posts like that anymore.

Don't even bother responding to my post b/c I won't reply, just quietly stop posting on here until you have something intelligent or positive to add. Feel free to move a little further away from your computer screen and keyboard at any time.

Thanks

First off, a 13lb fish does not taste the same as a 2lb fish, the smaller fish always taste better despite not feeding as many people. Then again if you like all that mercury then perhaps its natural selection..... have a nice day killem and grillem.

It's very hard to judge a fishes size from a picture. With camera angles and depth perception.

I went back and looked at some of "father walleyes" pics online.   His 18 lbs looks massive - cause it is.  I cant guess a size well.

Nice fish no matter the size.

How many guys here fish the trail?  Sounds like the Rowan's tourney had the hightest mortality rate they've ever seen this last year. Hundreds of boats hundreds of fish.  Fish pulled up from 40+ FOW, trying to win a tourney. So if a guy keeps a legal fish and posts a pic - probably cause its the biggest one he ever ca ught  well anyways nice fish. I'm still working on beating 8 11.

my biggest eye is just under ten pounds i kept it but i was young and foolish.  the jacks over 6 lbs and walleye over 5 lbs go back. i have learned to appreciate nature.   keeping a big fish will feed you once release it and it will spawn for several years and feed you several times plus it will be bigger next time you catch it

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU

I dont think anyone has a problem with mounting a fish of that size, that is the fish of a lifetime for most people and its no longer a prime breeder. Its guys that knowingly keep prime breeding stock because they legally can, even though they know its wrong, that frustrate me and others.. Its not just killem, Ive seen lots of big fish kepts the last couple years by all kinds of people.. most simply dont know any better but some people are just plain ignorant.

All tournies are bad for this, rowans was especially bad last year because of the warm weather and the amount of guys fishing in deep water. On the flip side of this argument.. you wont find a group of people who care more about conserving the fish populations/lakes and the fish that do die during tournaments are offset by the fact that theses guys fish C&R 99% of the year unlike many other anglers whom go out to fill limits every time they fish.

Killem has inspired me to make a push for new regs on LML, had a great talk with a very friendly CO on the lake this past weekend about this issue and its time people start voicing their opnions to thoses who matter. DBK said it best when he said we need to be proactive vs reactive when it comes to managing our fisheries.

New regs sound good to me. They should apply lower limits and slots to all lakes in the province.
