Left at 1.  Caught a bunch of dink gills.  Kept a dozen 8-9 inchers.  Didn't find the crappies.  Muskie guys carpeted a good stretch of ice towards the narrows with tip ups.  Saw a nice one get pulled out.

4 to 6" of ice everywhere I drilled.  The shore ice where I accessed was starting to soften up.  Do not try to access the ice anywhere other than at the rail near the house opposite the dam.  Saw a guy put his boots through the ice as he was leaving towards the middle of the rail.

Does anyone fish at night for the crappies? i understand the ice is getting bad, just wondering how it is at night.

I went out last week 6pm-1am and only got a few, and the ones I did get I had to really work for. Most of the marks i could find were gills. I tried alot of depths too

Friend posted a video on sunday and didn't take much effort and the spud was going threw like hot knife threw butter.  Be smart, the fish will still be there for open water which is right around the corner.

The shoreline is very soft. My wife got wet up to her thigh on Saturday. I watched another woman get wet up to her waist moments after I told her not to enter next to her vehicle. Use extreme caution getting on and off.

truth....if you have to use that much caution getting on and off ...I don't want to go ......why risk it for a blue gill I can catch in a few weeks in open water .....that's me  .....if others want to go and think it's safe  ...maybe they are right ...jsmex glad  all it was  was a wet leg and everyone was ok .....I have always felt  when the shore line goes that's God's way of telling you to stay off

lots of open water. there were 2 guys out on the far shore yesterday that got out from the west side I'm guessing.  Even with these cold nights the lake is not refreezing and making ice.  there was and is too much run-off of warmer water from all the rain we had, and longer days ;D
