Anybody fish for Bowfin?

Is there anyone that fishes for Bowfin through the ice? What are some good techniques?

What the heck do you want to catch one of those things for ???
Ok it would be a good fight :)  but it seems as though they would tear your gear up?
The best thing I could think of would be to put down a T-bone steak with a stout steel leader and a #1 treb hook ;D

Yea they fight like hell and do tear your gear up, but they are a good fish to go for in derbies for the "Other" category. Other than that, you probably would have to repalce alot of gear fishing for those monsters.

Got it on my pike rig. I thought I had a nice smallmouth until it's head got up the hole. ::) Very fun to catch.

nice fish i catch those on the soft water. they are fun to catch. ugly to look at :P. still fun though
