Spencer area?
« on: Dec 10, 2018, 04:14 PM »
Any ice out that way yet?

My buddy is fresh out after a 3 year prison stint (long story), and wants to hit the ice this weekend. He can't drive, so I'm coming out to get him.

I don't want your spots, just want to know if it's safe. That'll help determine if we keep heading West...

Thanks Shanty....

doubtful if you will find safe ice; they are predicting a warm up and rain for the weekend.

Cayuta Lake (closest to Spenser) always has early ice, but no current reports on the ice.

Wanetta Lake is reported to have 3 inches this morning a the South end and is still not considered safe.

Sorry

Nothing safe around me yet (Northbridge ).

I only had to travel 40 minutes north to get on ice Saturday. Elevation was the factor I’m assuming.

I saw 3 guys on Holland pond today in the area I call pickeral cove. I would not venture out in the main body of the pond yet. The three guys were no where near each other, which is probably a good idea on thin ice.

Guys who were jigging today said it was pretty slow as well

At this point i imagine lots of places are fishable....just gotta make the drive and find out!
