Got out for my second weekend of fishing. Hit the hard water the Saturday after thanksgiving but we only managed about a dozen trout less than 12 inches.
Decided to target bass this weekend in the Becket area. Saturday was uneventful but we found a solid 9 inches of ice along with countless tiny pickerel and slime darts. Highlight of the day was using one of the tiny perch and catching a bigger perch on a tip up. Didn’t know they go for bait that big.
Sunday was a shorter adventure w my buddy, girlfriend and our four legged friend Royce. We didn’t get to the pond until about 1 but managed to catch half a dozen largemouth, a smallie at about 1.5lbs, some perch and one slab crappie. The highlight of the day is when my friend hooked into a 4+lber on the jig rod.
