Any info!
« on: Dec 06, 2018, 07:28 PM »
Hi, my wife and I are heading up from Indiana tomorrow. We are looking to get on some ice and do some fishing Saturday. We know we will have to head up North to find the ice. I was hoping someone could help us out with any info your willing to share. Thanks! Rob

I would call local bait shops in the areas you are thinking about going to. I imagine you will have to go north of m -55 or in that area.
I'd rather be fishing than sleeping

Check with the bait shops as suggested, we have had snow the past 2 nights, about 40 min south of Cadillac, which has put anywhere from 4-6 in of insulation on top of the ice and temps are in the high teens and low 20's over night with snow cover will make ice production slow down.  My pond, 12ft deep, has ice and is holding snow now but I would not walk on it and wont let the dogs get near it yet.

We have some lakes in the Gaylord area with ice traffic just be careful and follow the locals.

I agree, call some bait shops in different areas you are thinking of. I know there is some ice on Otsego lake and Houghtom lake but not sure how much yet.
Tried ice fishing with Dynamite, UGH... where's my shanty?
