Tomhegan Cove
« on: Feb 20, 2018, 02:26 PM »
In a couple weeks I am going up to fish Moosehead for a couple weeks. I am going to be fishing from several different launches. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I have never fished near
Tomhegan Cove.  I was thinking about heading up that way. Does anyone on here have experience in icefishing this area ? I am not asking for your secret spots just some general information or tips for fishing this area. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you staying there over night? If so, drop some likes for cusk and make a good chowda!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will be up there for two weeks. I most definitely will be cusk fishing. I’d like to target brookies during the day though. Some giants have been caught this year or so I have heard. Is Tomegan cove or row of the boot not very good for brookies ?

Any where up there on the shore line is good for brookies. Been going up there for years.

FYI...

Closed Areas: That portion known as Spencer Bay; that portion from the mouth of Tomhegan Stream to a straight line between 2 red markers, 1 set on the small point of land on the north shore of Tomhegan Cove approximately 1/2 mile from the mouth of Tomhegan Stream, the other set on the small point of land on the south shore of Tomhegan Cove approximately 3/4 mile from the mouth of Tomhegan Stream;
