Snowfall and Access
« on: Feb 19, 2018, 07:04 PM »
Heading to Lower Suncook in Barnstead tomorrow am.  Was wondering if it will affect difficulty getting onto the ice with gear.
Thanks in advance with any info!

Without knowing specifics, if you are hauling gear on foot, the heavier the sled, the more likely it is that it will "snowplow" as you go.
If there has been recent rains an warmer temps, standing snow can get real slushy as well.

Depending on how far you plan on going, these conditions can make foot travel more difficult.

Hopefully there will be enough subfreezing nights to stiffen the surface up enough for easy travel.
