I know it is tough to find them as bait in the winter, but Anyone know a dealer that currently has any in stock?

We used to buy small (11/4)powerbait crayfish that worked dynamite on big perch, but the bait was abruptly discontinued before we were able to really stock up on the bait

Interesting topic considering i recently caught a bunch of perch all loaded with crayfish and puking them up after being caught. How do you use them? Alive dead? How deep? Do you keep them away from structures they crawl under?
Interesting

I too have caught many warm water and cold water fish with crayfish in bellies. Seen perch puke some tiny ones up as you said. I have not used them ice fishing but tried trolling a small rebel crayfish on lead core this past fall and hooked into some nice browns..

I had always wanted to try them for cusk, I believe it's a favorite. Never tried, wasn't sure how I'd rig it.

Goggle - rigging crayfish for burbot. Check out the posts there from In-Fishermen - lots of choices and ideas although not necessarily crayfish specific.

Try elastics to hold them on the hook. The cusk I caught yesterday had crayfish, sunfish, bass, sticks and an oak leak in their bellies. I believe a large bait is best

Taylors Bait in Madbury had some last time I was in there. Call ahead to make sure he still has some. He's only open 8-2 so it can be tough to get over there when he's open.
