Fishing for...recipes!
« on: Feb 06, 2018, 11:58 AM »
Hey fellow icefishermen and women,

I hope you'll share your recipes for this fun project and great cause...

Dear Ice Fishing People:

Local Publisher seeks recipes and photos.  “What Is On Your Grill? - A Lakes Region Ice Fishing Recipe Picture Book" is being put together.

With the Lakes Region having so many lakes, ponds and coves, and in an effort to reach as many ice fishing people interested in submitting a recipe and picture, we are posting this letter on the forum.

What are you cooking or eating on the ice?  What is your recipe for cooking what you pull out of the ice?  Do you have a picture of the food or a picture of you eating your recipe?

Email your recipe, picture, name and where you are from to [email protected] Quality of photos and number of submissions will determine how many recipes get published.

Local food pantries will receive 15% of the proceeds from the book.

Thank you.

Easy poor man’s lobster: Lake trout filets (deboned) cut into 1” cubes. Bring 1qt 7up (other lemon lime soda works but 7up is best) to a boil. Drop in 5-7 peices at a time for approx 1-2 minutes (should float when cooked). Serve in melted butter!

Thanks, SHaRPS and Tuna! Recipes are steadily coming in so thanks to all for the support so far.

Don't forgot to send a long some pics of you, your family and friends enjoying your recipes on the ice. The author and her team hope to be out on Newfound this weekend for the Derby, so have your grills and stoves fired up!

Best wishes for a long and safe rest of the season.
