Converting a Helix 5 for ice fishing
« on: Nov 04, 2017, 06:27 PM »
Here is a quick video showing how I converted my Helix 5 Chirp/DI/GPS I use on my kayaks to an ice fishfinder. I used RAM mounts ball system to make it easier to move them back and forth in the winter when I opt to fish open water.

good video, bummer you jumped the gun.
You should have got the new 1521 transducer and did the free software update to
make you H5 a full on, real ice finder. allows you to use CHIRP on the ice, and also adds
interference rejection adjustments to ward of the Vex guys  ::)
The update also allows the use of the greatly enhanced flasher screen in a combo view with
the traditional graph
Get bit!
