We owe it too ourselves to take responsibility for our own personal safety rather than look to blame someone for a lack there of.  I was out early (11 Dec) and did not fall in.  Your post is what is wrong with a lot of people today.  You feel entitled to accuarate ice info (imo it doesn't exist) rather than empowered to make your own determinations.  Lenz owes you, me or the next guy nothing in that regard.

that post was so silly I couldn't even acknowledge  he even wrote it...I thought maybe he was trolling, BassEater69 sounds like a sport fishing trolling name anyhow haha get all the C &R guys upset everytime they see his post...i love the very premature ice PREDICTIONS haha thanks lenz

Im leaving mine operational...but man nights in the teens...self draining or not have to be careful.

finally some cold, ponds were steaming like crazy on the way in this ma. still a ways to go with a warm october.

regarding basseater69, i take no one's ice thickness reports as gospel until i get out the spud and check myself.

a better prediction will be when the first "how thick is the ice" post occurs  ::)

i'll go december 21st

Checked the water temp this morning, 47*!! We are dropping at a steady pace gents. End of December is looking promising.  With more cold water coming down from the north its 38* in north stratford NH. https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?site_no=01129500

went out for the last time in the boat thursday, water temp was 46 in the river another 8 degree's and it will be ready to make some ice, getting my christmas list ready, hoping by new year!

Skimming of ice on the small ponds the past two days. Lets hope the weather stays at least normal so we can get on sometime in December.

Yeah I saw a lot of places frozen up this morning.  I was up in the berks on sunday and got my lure hung up on the ice shelf several times.  There was about a half inch of ice in places.  Kayak was an ice breaker at times.
