Wireless Marcum camera panner
« on: Nov 12, 2015, 07:05 PM »
Has anyone else bought one of these yet? Mine just came today. Seems pretty nice. There is one thing though... When I hit the button to turn the panner, when I let go, it keeps going for just a little bit. Even if I just hit the button quick, it will turn more than just a quick hit. There's a definite lag in it between when you let go of the button and when the panner stops.  Has anyone else noticed this? I'm wondering if it is normal or not.

good to know, thanks for the share!

i just sent my lx7 to be upgraded to the lx9 and it comes with the wired cam panner. thinking that shouldn't have the lag issue.

i wonder if their new bluetooth panner is having issues too.

The wired panner has no lag. The Bluetooth panner your referring to is the one I'm talking about I believe. It's wireless but doesn't say anything about Bluetooth?

okay, marcum has 4 cam panners. 2 are wi-fi (recalled them being bluetooth because they talk to your smart phone via their free app) and your smart phone controls it and you can veiw from it too.

the others are the "Y" shaped ones. one is wired the other uses the key/vob remote like what your describing.
i'm getting the 50$ wired one with my upgrade tossed in. so i am glad to know not to get the key/vob styled version because it has a lag issue.
i would return it and try another or call marcum to see if thats normal for that unit.

I'm talking my about the new key fob one. I should give them a call but just though I'd ask here first to see if anyone else had one and could chime in.

Have been using wireless MoPods(aqua-vu) for 5 years, they also have a slight lag.  Have not found it to be much of a problem.  Have also used the wired panner from Marcum.  Have sold all but one(Marcum wired Panner) to replace with the MoPods.

But would still be interested to here how the wireless panner performs.  I have been happy with my MoPods.

I currently have one wireless Mopod and one wired Marcum.  I'm thinking of purchasing this new wireless Marcum and selling the wired Marcum.  My concern is the battery is only 8 hours life on the new wireless marcum.  Does that mean 8 hours of constant on or constant usage of  the panner?
