Just recieved my new VX, hooked up the batt to see if it worked and it did but is it normal for the transducer to emit a loud clicking noise ? For those that have one does it spook the fish in shallow water ? Read a number of good reviews but this question never came up. Thanks

They are supposed to make a clicking noise as said. I have read articles with theory of trolling motors and transducer clicking affecting fish on lakes with a lot of fishing pressure. I don't know how true it is however I can believe its possible on heavily fished bodies of water.
