hoping to make a trip over to the area. Is grand lake worth fishing? It's very big. Where to start?

I've never ice fished Grand lake but it is one of my favorite lakes to fish in the summer. My Inlaws have a place on Long lake and that is good fishing also.. My Father in law does pretty well there for Perch through the ice.. It does seem to be hit or miss though. There are walleyes in both

You probably will want to try to access Grand Lake from the North end for Ice fishing. The Launch on the South end has shallower water out for a long ways until you get out of the bay..You never know the fish may be in that shallow but it is a long run to deep water... You will be fine either way if you have transportation...
Long lake is kind of like a reservoir with a channel and moving water.....be careful of ice conditions there..
Hideaway bar out on 23 has some pretty good burgers and decent food...It's the type of place you can eat at all grubby after a day of ice fishing...

There's a launch on the north end with good parking in black bass bay, just walk south out of the bay. Very good ice right now about 5"-6" in the bay and 3" on the main lake. I'll be out this weekend this will be my 4th week of fishing on Grand already this year.

There was a good episode of a guy fishing there on Michigan Outdoors. I think they were in some deeper water for eyes if I can remember right.

sounds like fun.

Just looking to keep some info updated for those looking...
We live on the north end of Grand Lake. There were decent perch catches of perch on the north end, look for the usual weeded areas, or around the islands, there will be shanties and pailfishers to show you where things are.
The walleye that were on FIRE last week on the south end/Warren Creek area have slowed up quite a bit.
